Retelit respects the environment and achieves ISO 14001 certification

Retelit, having extended its ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 to Cloud services, has implemented its own environmental-management system and obtained certification of its conformity to the UNI EN ISO 14001:2004 standard by the certification body KIWA CERMET.

ISO 14001 is the main standard of reference for the introduction of an environmental management system (EMS): certification establishes the requirements that an organization must meet to adequately control the environmental impacts of its activities, while systematically seeking improvement in the most effective and sustainable way possible. Retelit has chosen to be certified under the of ISO 14001 standard in order to establish, implement, maintain and improve its environmental-management system. This certification demonstrates that the company's environmental-management system has been recognized as conforming to a standard of excellence according to the model applied by the company itself to the issues identified. Thus, the leading Italian company in the provision of data services and infrastructure is able to ensure the highest possible levels of quality and environmental protection while applying and continuously improving techniques aimed at minimizing the environmental impacts of its activities. To obtain certification, Retelit analysed its business processes and services, identifying areas of potential improvement and setting targets accordingly, in order to innovate and improve its environmental performance. By acting responsibly and in compliance with environmental legislation, the company ensures the correct application of the technologies used and the proper use of resources generated by its processes. In relation to the management of its data centres, 18 throughout Italy, Retelit is continuing to study ways to save energy by educating and involving all its staff for the development of an environmentally-friendly company culture. Attention to the environment, placed at the centre of an EMS, implemented according to the requirements set out by ISO 14001, allows a reduction in the consumption of raw materials and energy and less waste, which not only benefits the organization but also the context in which it operates.
