Retelit completes network expansion bridging Europe to Far East ahead of AAE-1 launch

To support increasing bandwidth demand of OTTs, Carriers and Financial Institutions in the fast growing traffic Eurasia route, Retelit expands its fiber network and launches a new generation platform of multiple 100 Gbps optical services to connect South European Data Centers up to Far East through the AAE-1 Bari cable landing station, the brand new Mediterranean gateway.

Completing the terrestrial network expansion, Retelit can now end to end satisfy the increasing demand of advanced high speed low latency network services between Asian and European Data Centers, drove by the fast growing Internet adoption of Asian countries. The Italian Carrier completed a new dark fiber infrastructure extension to connect with diverse entries all new established Data Center facilities within the Milan area, that is becoming a key hub for Trading, Cloud and Internet in Southern Europe. Moreover, Retelit equipped the backbone with a new generation optical 100 Gbps platform, delivering low latency services from Bari Cable Landing Station to Milan Data Centers along Italy long distance network. The new technology platform is able to carry up to 10 Tbps at the initial design. An integrated asset, fully owned by Retelit, bridging continents: the AAE-1 subsea system, a nationwide network along Italy, the natural Mediterranean backhaul and the Data Center connectivity fulfil all requirements for the Eurasia route to serve the international market. A wide number of service providers, OTT and ICT operators are connected by Retelit pervasive communication infrastructure.
