Retelit awarded by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Italy for the country's digital transformation. President Neri: “Innovation and environmental responsibility are our guiding principles”
Retelit, a leading company in Italy in the Telco & ICT sector and entirely focused on the B2B market, received this evening from the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Italy the Digital Transformation Award for the Country System “for its role as an enabler of innovation for businesses and public administration, as well as for the investment of over €370 million aimed at building next-generation data centers and evolving the national fiber optic network”.
Accepting the award at the ceremony held at Palazzo Mezzanotte in Milan was President Roberta Neri. “It is a great honor for me to receive this recognition on behalf of Retelit. It is a tangible sign and appreciation for the evolution path we have undertaken and shared with the support of our shareholder Asterion, which has allowed us to carve out a leading role in the Telco & ICT sector. This award makes our vision concrete: a solid and powerful network and data center infrastructure, an ecosystem of innovative services, and skilled, motivated people capable of enabling innovation for businesses and public administrations and fostering the country's digital transformation. Our proprietary infrastructure, which today includes an advanced fiber optic network, international backbones reaching Asia, the Middle East, and the United States, and 38 data centers distributed across Italy, is the backbone of the country's digital innovation. That is why we continue to evolve it with our investments. But innovation, for us, cannot and must not disregard responsibility. For this reason, I want to emphasize that this technological growth is accompanied by a concrete and deep commitment to sustainability. Last year we were awarded for the pioneering heat recovery project carried out for Avalon 3 with A2A. Today we are ready to replicate that virtuous model: the new data centers, starting with the one to be built in Corsico, will be designed to recover waste heat and convert it into energy for families and the local area. In addition, there is another step forward: the new network will allow companies to flexibly choose the most “green” connections in terms of environmental impact. It is not just an efficient choice: it is our promise to contribute to a more sustainable future. Our goal is clear: to continue taking care of our customers and contribute, through our infrastructure and vision, to the digital transformation and development of our country.”
